Workshop BioMeTra 2022

6th BioMeTra Workshop will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at the Aula Magna of the LITA building in Segrate.

All BioMeTra PhD students, residents, research fellows, post-docs, researchers, and professors are invited to present their work by sending an abstract, indicating their preference between oral or poster presentation.

Anyone who is willing to help with the organization of the workshop is more than welcome and warmly invited to contact the organizing committee by writing to: biometra.seminars@unimi.it

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Oral Presentations
Among oral communications, special emphasis will be given to:
- contributions by young researchers,
- joint contributions on multidisciplinary projects (joint presentations by two different speakers, at least one of whom belongs to the Department, with complementary expertise),
- reports on "third mission" experiences.
Oral presentations will be in English and should frame the context, techniques/approaches used, and provide an example of the results obtained to facilitate subsequent informal discussions.

Poster presentations & Flash talks
Those who present their work as a poster will have the opportunity to give a short oral presentation (in English, 1 slide, 1 minute) to the audience. Awards will be given to the best communications and posters presented by a young researcher.

Submission of Abstracts (Deadline: July 29)
Abstracts should be submitted only through the online form available on the workshop website. Each abstract must be in English and less than 2,000 characters in length. The presenting author (or one of the two presenting authors in the case of joint presentations) must have a valid @unimi (or @guest.unimi.it) e-mail address in order to complete the upload of an abstract.

Registration required
Congress registration and lunch ticket reservation (free of charge but mandatory) must be made exclusively through the workshop website.

Photo Contest (Deadline: Sept. 19)
All workshop participants are invited to submit an image representative of their work (microscope-acquired image, graphical visual abstract, 3D image, a cartoon, ...). Images (in TIFF, JPEG, PNG, GIF format) should be accompanied by a title and a description in English of up to 40 words and sent to biometra.seminars@unimi.it. The best image will be voted on and awarded on the day of the congress. The winner will receive a small prize.
